Summary/Abstract: The question about the views of Jews themselves on Judaism and their way of perceiving being a Jew is addressed to many authors in the history of philosophical and Jewish thought. The statements of well-known figures such as Walter Benjamin, Gershom Scholem, Hannah Arendt or Franz Kafka usually come to mind first. Their voices on this subject are, however, incomplete, fragmentary, and full of doubts and inconsistencies: If such approaches ultimately disappoint us, it is mainly because Judaism blurs into anti-Semitism and thus gets lost in a certain deformed, incomplete image. The aim of the article is to analyse the work of O. Weininger and to present it in the context of the question of the identity of Jewish thinkers and his relationship to Judaism. The text refers largely to O. Weininger's well-known work Gender and Character, looking in it only for problems related to the concept of gender, femininity or masculinity, but also for the relationship of these concepts with the problem of Jewish identity.
