Summary/Abstract: This article reflects on truth and the mission of theology as seen through Pope Francis’ teaching. He emphasizes that theological truth is not just revealed doctrine, but a living experience shared in love and mercy. Truth without love becomes cold, and faith without truth cannot save. Theology is called to be a transformative encounter – a dialogue between God and humanity. It must engage with real-world issues, reach the peripheries, and remain open to dialogue. Pope Francis urges theologians to move beyond academic boundaries, embracing cultural contexts, poverty, migration, and global tensions. He also encourages openness to science, philosophy, ecology, and social concerns. Mercy becomes the key to interpreting Christian doctrine, and proclaiming truth is seen as an act of love, not judgment.
