Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the role of musical activities in developing linguistic and communicative competences in teaching Romanian as a foreign language at the A2 level. Drawing on relevant theoretical frameworks from language acquisition, cognitive psychology, and modern pedagogy, the study highlights that music is a complex teaching resource, capable of facilitating access to comprehensible input, supporting memorization through rhythm and repetition, reducing anxiety, and stimulating learners’ active participation. It draws on perspectives such as the theory of comprehensible input, working memory theory, dual-coding theory, multimodality, and the principle of scaffolding to demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating songs into the learning process. The practical applicability of this approach is illustrated through the analysis of a worksheet based on the song 20 de ani by the band Voltaj, organized into the stages of pre-listening, listening, and post-listening. The proposed exercises aim to develop listening comprehension, vocabulary, pronunciation, discursive competence, and personal expression in a progressive manner adapted to the A2 level.
