Language exercises based on AI applications

Summary/Abstract: Technologies based on AI have become a permanent fixture in the learning process, and teachers and educational institutions are exploring intensively how to make the best use of them in the classroom. On the one hand, AI tools are particularly popular for autonomous language learning, but on the other hand, they can also be used in language teaching to make lessons more interesting and appealing. AI tools can be used to design interactive, learning-friendly exercises for all phases of the language teaching process. This leads to increased motivation to learn, an improved teaching environment, while making use of multimedia, or rather the combination of image, text and sound, provided by these technologies. A recommended tool in language teaching is therefore the image generation function of generative AI, which is presented in this paper. It is not of importance which tool is used in this process, but rather its impact in classrooms. The teacher is responsible for ensuring that the classroom benefits from a dynamic learning experience that includes both AI and human support.
