Summary/Abstract: The author addresses the issues of identity formation in the younger generation amidst intense cultural changes, globalization, and digitalization. She points out that contemporary existence, marked by immediacy and cultural hybridization, necessitates a continuous renegotiation of relationships between the individual and their environment, which may lead to identity fragmentation or diffusion. Young people, functioning in a culture of consumption and media (including social media), experiment with social roles, sometimes risking the creation of a false self-image. This can result in an identity crisis and even emotional and social problems. The study presents both individual and social mechanisms active in the process of self-identity formation, as well as institutional conditions shaping this process. Attention is drawn to the role of intercultural education and a critical-creative approach in the education of the younger generation as ways to support the creation of a safe space for youth to experiment, integrate experiences, and build a coherent self-definition. The author calls for the implementation of comprehensive psychoeducational and therapeutic strategies, particularly in socially at-risk environments, as an essential measure to counteract the negative consequences of contemporary cultural transformations.
