Summary/Abstract: The article addresses the issue of motherhood of women raising children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the context of narrative metaphors used to describe their own experiences. The study aimed to present the experiences of narrators - mothers of children with ASD - through the lens of metaphors present in their narratives. The study was based on a qualitative paradigm, and the empirical material was collected using Fritz Schütze's narrative interview method. The analysis of the narratives of mothers of children with ASD revealed metaphorical representations of three key areas: identity ('being in the background'), everyday life ('rollercoaster') and stigmatization ('crazy mother'). The results indicate the importance of metaphor for interpreting and communicating emotional experiences. They emphasize the need to consider the perspective of mothers in the development of social policy, education and support systems. The article is compliant with the context of intercultural education, in which the category of the Other - in this case, the mother of a child with disability - becomes the starting point for building a pedagogical attitude of sensitivity, empathy and dialogue.
