Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a comparative study on the level of achievement motivation among Polish and Ukrainian students enrolled at universities in Poland. The research sample consisted of 250 individuals (125 Polish and 125 Ukrainian students). The study employed the Achievement Motivation Inventory (LMI) developed by Schuler and Prochaska, adapted into Polish. The findings indicate a comparable overall level of achievement motivation in both groups. However, Polish students scored significantly higher in the dimensions of belief in success, engagement, competitiveness, and internalization, whereas Ukrainian students scored higher in the domain of concern for prestige. Ukrainian students tend to be more driven by extrinsic motivation, while Polish students are more frequently characterized by intrinsic motivation. These findings offer valuable guidance for university staff in designing educational strategies tailored to intercultural dynamics and in providing individualized academic support. Universities, as multicultural environments, are obliged to identify both the similarities and differences in students' functioning in order to effectively support the development of their competencies essential for achieving academic success as well as for attaining career advancement and professional growth in their future employment.
