Summary/Abstract: This article examines Dostoevsky’s role as a “prophet-sign” through the lens of semiotics and Peirce’s theory of abduction. Drawing on Ivan Mladenov’s development of the concept of the effete mind, it explores how intuition and latent memory inform Dostoevsky’s foresight. His prophetic vision is understood as a cognitive process rooted in cultural experience. Through abductive reasoning, Dostoevsky reveals emerging patterns that remain relevant to philosophical and literary discourse today.
