Summary/Abstract: In the Romanian Orthodox Church, the year 2025 is a commemorative one, marking 140 years since the recognition of its autocephaly (25 April 1885) and 100 years since its elevation to the rank of Patriarchate (4 February 1925). At the same time, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church has proclaimed the year 2025 as the “Commemorative Year of the Centennial of the Romanian Patriarchate” and the “Memorial Year of Romanian Orthodox spiritual fathers and confessors of the twentieth century.
