Summary/Abstract: This research aims to analyze the protection mechanism of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities by providing assistance in concluding legal acts. The legislative novelty of the regulation of this mechanism was transposed through the provisions of Law 140/2022 on some protection measures for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and amending and supplementing certain normative acts, with subsequent amendments and updates. In the analysis, we will observe who the protection measure is addressed to (the holder), who can have the quality of assistant, the content of the measure, the procedure for establishing it and the methods of its termination. In carrying out this research, the legislative provisions applicable to the matter were mainly analyzed, as well as works from the specialized doctrine incident to the analyzed topic.
