Summary/Abstract: The digital era is radically redefining how individuals access, process, and interpret information. The proliferation of digital technologies has not only created opportunities but also significant challenges for critical thinking. This paper analyzes the impact of the digital environment on cognitive processes, identifies the main threats (such as disinformation, echo chambers, algorithmic manipulation, and infodemia), and proposes legislative and educational solutions to protect critical discernment. Additionally, the paper explores new legal regulations, the limits of freedom of expression in the digital environment, and the importance of media education in combating digital manipulation. The study also assesses the effects of digital transformation on judicial decisions and prosecutors, emphasizing the risks to legal reasoning and decision-making processes.
