Summary/Abstract: Terrorism is a threat that Europe has been struggling with for many years. A certain catalyst accelerating the EU's policy to combat this phenomenon was the attack on the WTC in 2001 and the resulting consequences. Terrorism is currently not a threat only to Europe, but has become a problem destabilizing the international security environment. One of its trends - right‑wing terrorism - is perceived by experts as a phenomenon with an increasing tendency, which will be the next, fifth "wave of terrorism". This trend may be a reflection of many current problems that contemporary Europe is struggling with, such as illegal migration, the rise of anti‑emigration sentiments, the activities of populist parties and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Therefore, the EU is forced to consistently implement a collegial policy aimed at neutralizing this problem.
