Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, which was marked as an unprecedented violation of the international legal order, which prompted an immediate response from the international community, including the European Union. Faced with this breach of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the EU undertook a series of measures aimed at condemning and penalizing Russia as well as supporting Ukraine in its struggle for independence. This article examines the European Union's stance on the annexation of Crimea, focusing on the problems and challenges that accompanied its political and economic responses. Specific actions taken by the EU, including the imposition of economic, political, and financial sanctions, as well as support for institutional reforms and security cooperation, are discussed. Additionally, the article presents the effectiveness of these measures and their impact on EU-Russia relations and the international community. The goal is to understand the complexity and dynamics of the European Union's response to the Crimea crisis, as well as the challenges it faces following after Russia's ongoing actions in the region.
