THE ADMINISTRATIVE APPARATUS OF THE GOODS OF JAROSŁAW BELONGING TO MARIE CASIMIRE D'ARQUIEN SOBIESKA IN THE YEARS 1697-1699: THE PEOPLE - THE FUNCTIONS - THE NETWORK OF CONTACTS

Summary/Abstract: The world of courtiers and their relations is the theme of the work in reference to the administrative apparatus managing the goods of Jarosław in the years 1697-1699. The timeframe of the work was chosen on the account of the best preserved source materials in the form of correspondence, inventories of property, bills and receipts. In consequence, this made it possible to illustrate rather extensively the connections between the people responsible for the economic affairs of the goods belonging to the Queen Marie Casimire d'Arquien Sobieska. The work attempted to outline the model of the apparatus responsible for the administering of the wealth. Therefore, it presented a framework and duties of clerks, and next the author took up the task of showing the bonds between clerks based on their duties and services provided for each other. Moreover, the conclusion points out the possible ways of controlling the clerks and their connections with the Queen. It also referred to the career paths of clerks after the departure of Marie Casimire d'Arquien Sobieska to Rome in 1699, and finally the factors which may have had influence on the relations between clerks indicating emotional motivations and bonds between patrons and clients.
