Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the role of prints from the Roman publishing house alla Pace in disseminating formal patterns of Baroque art in the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Although the influence of Italian architectural treatises and pattern books has been studied, the literature on the subject lacks – despite existing demands – an analysis of works from specific publishing houses. The presentation of the activities of the publishing house run by the de’ Rossi family and a discussion of the state of research on the reception of their publications in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth highlight the need to approach this issue within the broader context of artistic education, collecting, and the processes of distribution and circulation of these prints – in order to better understand not only the mechanisms of artistic transfer but also the entire print culture of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
