Summary/Abstract: This article is about a meeting between the Polish Ambassador in Berlin Roman Knoll and the Georgian publicist and political figure Prince Davit Vachnadze. The Polish diplomat and the Georgian prince knew each other since Istanbul, wherein in 1924 was established the Committee for Caucasian Confederalists -- an organisation that united in its ranks representatives of Georgia, Azerbaijan and the North Caucasus. The organisation aimed to fight for the freedom and independence of these republics. The Polish side provided material and organisational support for the work of the Committee. At the time, the Polish diplomatic mission in Turkey was headed by an experienced diplomat Roman Knoll. In 1926 Roman Knoll was recalled to Warsaw, and soon Davit Vachnadze left for France. The Committee for Caucasian Confederalists existed for two years. A few years later, in the winter of 1929, Davit Vachnadze, who had retired from active political activity, travelled to Berlin to meet with Roman Knoll, who was then the head of the Polish Embassy. During their conversation they discussed the prospects of Polish assistance in the struggle for Georgia's independence. Several years later, Davit Vachnadze wrote down the story of this meeting. This manuscript, written in Georgian and kept in his personal archive for a long time, has recently become available to researchers. It is these memories, which I have translated into Polish, that are published for the first time in this article.
