Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the soprano’s evolution as a contemporary cultural phenomenon. The dominant approaches in the article are intertextual and comparative, which make it possible to present the soprano in a panoramic perspective, within the dialogue between different cultures (European and Asian) in the context of their evolution. The analysis has shown that the soprano can be seen as a unique musical singing, marked by a special femininity that is an identifier of different cultures, and in particular European and Chinese. This allows us to consider the soprano in the context of its application as: (i) a lyrical soprano, (ii) a dramatic soprano, and (iii) a hybrid (lyrical-dramatic and lyrical-coloratura soprano), as well as to draw parallels with the corresponding types of singing in China. Therefore, the soprano is examined as a cultural marker of opera across different traditions, deeply rooted in history through its distinctive presence on stage, in cinema, and on television. This perspective opens new horizons for understanding the soprano as a phenomenon within the global art space, capable of shaping and reshaping artistic canons worldwide.
