Summary/Abstract: The article examines Hannah Arendt’s intellectual endeavour to transform the prevailing tradition of political thinking, which she believed was deeply rooted in her time. Her aim was to establish a new tradition. Highlighting her intellectual legacy and her aspiration to view politics and the political as an end rather than a means, the article analyses her attitude towards intellectual tradition and its relationship with the ‚in-between period’, during which she lived and worked as an intellectual. While noting the dynamism of her writings and their multidisciplinary nature, the post-metaphysical nature of the intellectual tradition that she created is also emphasized, which, in its turn, has had a huge impact on some of her successors.
