Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to indicate and discuss all the linguistic and stylistic means used by Eugeniusz Paukszta to create the feelings, emotions and character traits of the main character of the story "The Last Soldier of the Republic". Lexemes, word combinations and stylistic figures co-creating the psycheof Captain Stefan Więckowski were excerpted from the text, which were then subjected to semantic stratification. The research has shown that Paukszta uses the names of feelings and experiences (love, fear) individually, based on describing the accompanying physiological symptoms.
