Summary/Abstract: This article analyses the ways in which Ottoman heritage is represented in the museums of Nicosia, demonstrating how selective historical narratives influence memory in a divided city. It reveals that museums become spaces of struggle over identity and narrative dominance. The analysis covers institutions on both sides of the divide—Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot—and highlights differences in the portrayal of the past, as well as the role of museums as actors of historical education.
