Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes speech in parables as a form of theological communication specific to the preaching of the Savior Jesus Christ. Starting from the identification of the parabolic style in the Old Testament and continuing with the frequent use in the synoptic corpus of the New Testament, we will see that the use of the parable, in addition to its didactic-pedagogical character, is also an instrument through which the divine truth is progressively revealed. The study highlights the tension between revealed and hidden, the role of human freedom but also participation in the reception of the hidden message in the symbolic language of the parable, as well as the pedagogical dimension of this didactic tool. Finally, we will highlight some of the applications that this form of communication can have in contemporary sermon and catechesis.
