Summary/Abstract: In the era of mass media and fast flow of information, as Joseph Tjurou wrote about in his study Media Today, music publishing houses have become capable of easily and quicly distributing music and cultural content. In the 1970s and 1980s, especially in Great Britain, there was a huge dissatisfaction in the social, political and kultural context, which initiated the formation of a rebellius spirit through the punk movement. It was the distribution companies that took advantage of the moment to promote punk music, but at the same time offering other genres of popular music that cultural theorists called the new wave a little later. The popularization of the new wave cultural movement thoroughout Western civilasation influenced the shaping of the cultural identity of an urban character, and this movement was generally accepted even the Second World War. The Yugoslav film industry quickly adapted to the newly established cultural trends, and the new wave, as well as the urban identity that this movement brought with it in the eighties of the twentieth century, was incorporated into film through film music and film narrative.
