Summary/Abstract: In the irreversible flow of time, all that remains for the human being is to observe, again and again, that time passes quickly and that every moment that has gone by is gone forever. Recalling the philosopher Emil Cioran, he writes somewhere in The Fall into Time: “In vain do I try to cling to moments. The moments flee from me.” This remark brings to mind an older word of Saint Paul the Apostle, who says: “Redeem the time, for the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).
