Summary/Abstract: The Gospel text from Mark, read on the second Sunday of Lent, although relatively short, is striking in its complexity and in the multitude of ideas that can be drawn from it. Among them, the theme of friendship seems to resonate most strongly with the world in which we live. Where does this theme emerge from? From the account that the paralytic of Capernaum was brought before the Savior by four men, and from this it is naturally inferred that a bond of friendship existed among them.
