Summary/Abstract: Error-based learning represents an innovative and effective pedagogical approach, particularly in foreign language teaching. Unlike traditional methods, which perceive mistakes as deviations to be immediately corrected, this approach recognizes errors as essential cognitive tools that facilitate reflection, self-regulation, and active participation in the learning process. By integrating errors into classroom activities through methods such as error journals, collaborative discussions, self-correction exercises, and “fail-forward” tasks, students develop autonomy, linguistic fluency, and metacognitive skills. The “culture of error” promotes a positive attitude toward mistakes, transforming them into resources for learning rather than obstacles. This paradigm shift fosters a safe and supportive learning environment, reduces performance anxiety, and encourages experimentation, creativity, and meaningful communication. Additionally, systematic error analysis, combined with appropriate feedback strategies, enables teachers to guide students in identifying, understanding, and correcting recurring patterns, thereby enhancing both individual progress and collaborative learning. Overall, adopting a culture of error contributes to the formation of reflective, autonomous, and competent language learners, emphasizing learning as a process of exploration and continuous improvement rather than mere avoidance of mistakes.
