Summary/Abstract: This study explores the conceptual trajectory of two foundational notions in ancient Greek thought — λόγος (logos) and σιγή (sige) — and the way in which the tension between word and silence is transfigured throughout the literary work of Nicolae Dabija. Drawing on the philosophical and rhetorical meanings of λόγος in the Hellenic tradition — as reason, discourse, and the ordering principle of the world — and on the mystical dimensions of σιγή, silence as the boundary of utterance, as the space of the ineffable — the article examines how these two polarities structure Dabija's poetic universe. In his writing, silence is not absence but a form of resistance, in order to replace the time of words-as-mask, emptied of meaning, with an ideal time of the pure word, of the pre-word memory. The poetics of silence in Nicolae Dabija's work thus emerges as a literary response, reactivating, in a modern key, a founding tension of European culture.
