Summary/Abstract: Transylvanian Maramureș has always been characterized by national diversity. As a result, even amid the turmoil of the 20th century, the county was home to a rich and multilingual press. Together with the press history of the old MaramureșCounty and Baia Mare (and its settlements), a more detailed picture emerges of the press history of today’s Maramureș.The aim of my research is to explore the history of the short- and long-lived newspapers published in Maramureș between the two world wars and during World War II, by listing and presenting the county’s Hungarian, Romanian, and Yiddish daily, weekly, and monthly publications.
