Summary/Abstract: The history of the Banat people is written together with the appearance of humankind. Alongside the changes brought about by the inventiveness and the social and spiritual needs of Homo sapiens, once the Romans arrived after the wars of 101–102 and 105–106, the sources show that the population of these lands embraced Christianity relatively quickly, having already believed in the supreme god Zamolxis and in the consciousness of life after death. Thus, worship and the Church developed naturally in the first centuries, through direct contact with exponents of Christianity, both along the Hellenic and the Roman lines.
