Summary/Abstract: Friendship has been a subject of philosophical and scientific inquiry from Plato to contemporary neuroscience, revealing its deep impact on human well-being. This paper explores friendship as a therapeutic force, emphasizing its role in shaping identity and emotional stability. Neuropsychological studies confirm that authentic social bonds activate reward circuits and mitigate stress. Moreover, friendship helps individuals reaffirm personal values and maintain a coherent sense of self over time. The paper argues that the decline of meaningful friendships in modern society exacerbates loneliness and existential uncertainty. By analyzing deep and lifelong friendships, it highlights their indispensable role in psychological balance and personal development. Ultimately, the study positions friendship not just as a social construct but as a vital component of human flourishing.
