Summary/Abstract: Noica entered in the history of Romanian literature and philosophy with his first works (see B. Munteanu and N. Façon). He then had the chance to open to universality by studying in Paris, working at the Romanian Institute in Germany and listening Heidegger’s lectures. His personality was known internationally also because of the persecution to which he was subjected by the political regime established in Romania after 1945. After the period of detention and employment at the Logic Center of the Academy, he published numerous articles in foreign languages in the country and abroad, resuming the dialogue with the Western philosophical movement (O. Pöggeler, H. P. Duerr) and with the diaspora (E. Cioran, M. Eliade, G. Uscătescu, I. Jianu, D. Sfințescu). Fragments of his texts appeared in translation in publications promoting Romanian culture abroad and in foreign magazines where his philosophical activity began to become known, even during his lifetime, through reviews and articles published by Romanian and foreign authors (G. Liiceanu, A. Pleșu, M. Nasta, E. A. Moutsopoulos, C. Karnoouh).
