Summary/Abstract: In the teachings of the Fathers of Orthodoxy, there are approaches that reject social injustice, social exploitation, and social inequality — ideas whose significance extends beyond the era in which they were written, as can be seen through their analysis. This article seeks to present and analyze aspects of these approaches through the works of Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, John Chrysostom, Gregory of Nyssa and to compare them with the views of Marx and Engels on social justice. The analysis and comparison reveal a number of points of contact and similarity within the broader framework of exploring the relationship between the social values of Orthodox Christianity and Marx’s theory of social justice.
