Summary/Abstract: In every country, the main component of national security is its energy security. It is a guarantee of the economic stability of the state and determines the vector and behavior in its international positions. Energy security for Bulgaria is a major political topic, due to its strategic location at the crossroads between the West and the East. Due to its geopolitical location, Bulgaria is going through various transformations in the period 2008 - 2022, imposed by external geopolitical shock factors, the need to carry out internal reforms, and the political class's frantic desire to unify and synchronize with the EU's energy political system. This paper analyzes strategic documents and political decisions that shaped Bulgaria's energy security in the given period.
