Summary/Abstract: This dossier examines the ways in which totalitarian experience is represented in post-1989 Romanian literature. It highlights the shift from allegorical survival under censorship to direct engagement with historical truth, memory recovery, and ethical testimony. Post-communist writing functions both as a means of collective catharsis and as a tool for reconstructing suppressed histories, particularly through prison memoirs, testimonial literature, and postmodern reinterpretations of everyday life under communism.
