Summary/Abstract: The Mediterranean Allied Air Forces launched 110 missions with 1207 sorties against German forces that conducted operation Rösselsprung from May 25th to June 6th 1944. Fighter aircraft struck German ground forces, transportation routes, and airfields between Zadar, Zagreb, Banja Luka and Mostar focusing on areas from Bihać, Knin, Bosansko Grahovo and Livno to Drvar, while bombers attacked towns, traffic junctions and airfields across the wider operational area. Allied air operations significantly slowed the German advance and disrupted their maneuvering, but also caused considerable collateral civilian casualties in urban areas.
