Summary/Abstract: This article explores the conceptual distinction between the child of nostalgia and the child of memory as narrative constructs in Romanian literature. It examines how childhood is reconstructed not merely as an idealized space of innocence, but as a complex experiential territory shaped by historical, political, and emotional realities. The nostalgic child is defined not as an adult indulging in sentimental remembrance, but as a narrative instance capable of honestly revisiting childhood with both its joys and traumas intact.
