Summary/Abstract: This paper is dedicated to the study of dynamic interactions affecting railway turnout components. The analysis aims to assess the level of dynamic loads transmitted to the durability of railway turnout surfaces. It presents an innovative method for testing the dynamic impacts transmitted to railway turnouts by freight trains and a test railway vehicle. The presented tests were carried out to determine the causes of accelerated degradation of railway turnout components in the approach area to the Gdańsk Port Północny railway station.
