Summary/Abstract: The study presented in this article points out that in Middle East research, issues of peace and war, and high levels of conflict dominate the security policy agendas. The author examines what solutions are available from a security policy point of view to deal with and suppress religious extremism. The aim is to identify the roots of conflicts in the Middle East and their destabilising factors, so that it is possible to find appropriate responses to promote peace and security. In the research, the author considers the fundamental aspects to be the pursuit of a scientific foundation, a systematic approach, the development of conclusions based on analyses and syntheses, and the support of scientific theorems with practice. The nature of the problems faced by the Middle East and the responses to them are identified.
