Ellipsis in Tahar Ben Jelloun’s Narrative Discourse – before and after ChatGPT

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, we aim to see to what extent the ideas from our doctoral thesis, "Elliptical Structures in the Narrative Discourse of Tahar Ben Jelloun" are found in ChatGPTt.For this, we started by checking the name of the author of the thesis, if it exists, if his PhD. thesis has been published and if the software identifies the complete list of works in the field of ellipsis. The next step was to see if, regarding the types of ellipsis, there is concordance between our ideas and those presented by Chat GPT or significant differences. The conclusion was that although Chat GPT gives errors regarding some information, with the help of the software one can find relevant information for the specialized literature, the most difficult task being for the researcher to extract the relevant information and to identify the accurate sources.
