Summary/Abstract: Mixed-ability classrooms, where students exhibit diverse levels of knowledge, skills, and learning styles, present both opportunities and challenges for educators. This article explores the core principles of mixed-ability teaching, including differentiation, inclusive pedagogy, and adaptive assessment. It also addresses key challenges such as managing varying paces of learning, maintaining student engagement, and ensuring equitable participation. The article argues that artificial intelligence (AI) offers powerful, practical solutions to these challenges. AI can support teachers through personalised learning platforms, intelligent tutoring systems, real-time analytics, and content generation tools that adapt to individual student needs. Each proposed solution is illustrated with real-life classroom examples to demonstrate feasibility and impact.By integrating AI thoughtfully, educators can enhance learning outcomes, streamline instructional planning, and foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. This paper highlights the potential of AI not to replace teachers, but to empower them in delivering effective, differentiated instruction in diverse classrooms.
