Summary/Abstract: This study explores the increasing presence of anglicisms in contemporary discourse within the context of social media and artificial intelligence, examining their impact on cultural identity. Positioned at the intersection of globalization and localization, the research investigates how English lexical borrowings function not only as linguistic imports but also as markers of prestige, modernity, and technological integration. Drawing on sociolinguistic theory, discourse analysis, and examples from digital communication, the paper argues that anglicisms operate as instruments of both homogenization and identity negotiation. While globalization accelerates linguistic convergence, local communities reinterpret and adapt anglicisms to fit their own cultural frameworks, generating hybrid forms and glocalized identities. The findings suggest that rather than eroding national identity, anglicisms contribute to dynamic processes of cultural redefinition shaped by digital environments and AI-mediated communication.
