Summary/Abstract: A life maintenance contract represents a specific contractual relationship which, due to its complexity and far-reaching inheritance law consequences, is subject to enhanced formal requirements. This paper is dedicated to the analysis of the formal-legal aspects of such contracts, with particular attention to the role of the notary in the process of their conclusion. Based on applicable legal provisions and legal theory, the paper examines the requirements regarding the form of the contract and its significance. In addition to formal-legal requirements related to the notarial form, the study also considers the issue of registering the rights of the provider of maintenance in the public register as a mechanism for protecting rights and ensuring legal certainty. The aim of the paper is to highlight the importance of form and public registration as means of protecting the parties and preventing disputes, as well as to emphasize the contribution of notarial form and public registration to legal security and legal transactions, and to analyze certain doubts.
