Summary/Abstract: 1./ Complexity of history: fusions, crises, articulations, and more By fragments of history, we wish to convey three ideas. First, ambivalence. Fragments of history are sometimes miraculous for all of humanity. At other times, they are tragic for some and celebrated as glorious by the victors. Next, speaking of fragments—of joys, tragedies, confusions—highlights the extent to which history as a whole often erupts suddenly, surpassing all expectations.
