Summary/Abstract: Background: Contemporary beauty standards place significant emphasis on lip aesthetics, as lips are often perceived as a symbol of attractiveness and an important factor influencing women’s self-esteem. Lip appearance can affect social interactions and perceived facial harmony. Advances in cosmetology have made a variety of lip enhancement procedures widely accessible. Consequently, understanding public knowledge and attitudes toward these treatments is important for both clinicians and cosmetic practitioners.Aim of the study: The study aimed to assess the impact of lip augmentation using hyaluronic acid and permanent makeup on women’s self-esteem and perceived attractiveness, as well as to analyze their motivations, satisfaction with the outcomes, and awareness of potential risks associated with these procedures.Material and methods: The study was conducted using an anonymous online survey addressed to women who had undergone the examined aesthetic procedures. A total of 152 respondents of varying ages participated. The questionnaire included items concerning demographic data, satisfaction with the achieved results, the degree to which expectations were met, and the influence of the procedures on self-esteem.Results: More than half of the respondents, specifically 63.8% (n=97), rated their satisfaction with the outcomes as very high, while an additional 21.1% (n=32) reported high satisfaction, confirming the overall positive evaluation of these treatments. These findings were also reflected in the domain of self-esteem, as 89.4% of participants indicated that lip correction enhanced their sense of attractiveness and confidence, with 69.7% reporting a marked improvement. Moreover, 52.6% (n=80) of women stated that the procedure completely resolved a significant aesthetic concern, while 46.7% noticed an increase in compliments regarding their appearance following the intervention. Conclusions: Aesthetic procedures significantly contribute to the improvement of appearance, which directly translates into enhanced self-esteem. Participants are aware of the potential risks associated with these procedures.
