Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the ongoing instability in Afghanistan (the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan), with a particular focus on the systematic violations of human rights affecting the Afghan population. Central to the analysis are the persistent economic and humanitarian crises confronting the country. The study further explores the interrelation between these issues and the implementation of Sharia law, as well as the implications of the Taliban's assumption of power. The discussion is situated within a broader historical context, outlining the trajectory of conflict in Afghanistan. A principal methodological component of the article is the analysis of reports issued by the Secretary-General of the United Nations concerning the situation in Afghanistan during the period 2022-2025. Of equal significance is the assessment of the role played by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by the Afghan population. The aim of this study is also to undertake a critical evaluation of both the peacekeeping mission's activities and the broader initiatives undertaken by the United Nations in pursuit of stability and the protection of human rights in Afghanistan.
