Summary/Abstract: Civil aviation has repeatedly been the target of terrorist attacks, and many attempts have been based on the useof liquid explosives. As a result, security services have intensified their efforts to identify and neutralise terrorist threats, with oneof the manifestations of this being strict security procedures in air transport. These include restrictions on the quantity of liquidscarried and the volume of their packaging. However, many countries have already announced the lifting of these restrictions, andtheir validity was also questioned in Poland several years ago. The findings presented in this study are intended to answer thequestion: to what extent are the restrictions on liquids carried on board aircraft introduced at airports justified by the real threatof a bomb attack that could be launched with these liquids?
