Summary/Abstract: Theological-metaphysical and philosophical-ontological insight into Njegoš‘s po¬etic works shows that he sees fight as the essential element of the totality of the world. The fight is omnipresent: beyond reality, in the universe and nature as God‘s creations; in the anthropological and existential field of existence (fight for justice and freedom in life); in the field of ethics (fight to be human in the ultimate sense despite various negative circumstances and weaknesses); then in the field of refined agonisticism (people‘s and knightly tournament); as well as in dialectical ‚fencing‘ with ideas and words. All thoughts and conceptions of the essence of fight Njegoš developed according to the universal evangelical and philosophical truths, viewing them through the lens of folk wisdom and traditions, but also in accordance with the principles derived from his own spiritual hunger and questioning, as well as from all-seeing gifts of God.
