Summary/Abstract: From the perspective of philological and intercultural doctrines, translation has experienced a steady rise over the centuries, until in the 20th century it developed into a distinct theoretical‑practical field that continues to take shape before our eyes and plays an essential role in the process of convergence between cultural spaces. The circulation of cultural and civilizational values contained in translated books is a factor of knowledge and appreciation of every culture; therefore, translations are an absolute necessity. Their contribution to promoting the concepts they convey and the respective languages is considerable, as the discovery and dissemination of literatures takes place through the translation of representative works into the most diverse cultural areas.
