Summary/Abstract: The Croatian language and the Macedonian language belong to the group of South Slavic languages, but apart from many similarities, they also show significant differences both on the level of the language system (langue) and on the level of its implementation (parole). The aim of this article is to present similarities and differences in Croatian and Macedonian linguistic structures, which are examples of hybrid forms on the morphological level. The analyzed structures combine verb features with features characteristic of other parts of speech. These include participle forms, gerunds and infinitive forms. The starting point for this analysis was a description of the formal structure of forms of this type, their semantics and functions from a confrontational perspective. Each of the Croatian hybrid forms was then compared with equivalent structures in Macedonian. Such comparisons confirmed the common genesis of hybrid forms, but at the same time showed their different development paths in the analyzed languages, semantic differences and differences in the functions they perform.
