Summary/Abstract: The global world is the reality we live in every day, offering enormous opportunities and chances through global education, intercultural relations, and many other very positive possibilities. At the same time, however, a large scale of various threats is emerging, primarily related to global disinformation and the consequent fragmentation of human and social reality. Therefore, education must strive to keep pace with current social trends to avoid losing humanity on an individual and societal level. My research on glocal education (think globally - act locally) is necessary because its exemplification in qualitative research through informal essays by young people shows how contemporary youth desire a global world and, at the same time, deeply crave a small, local world in which to strengthen their identity, culture, security, and, above all, real interpersonal relationships.
