Summary/Abstract: This article analyses the rights and duties of Sejm Deputies (i.e. MPs) and Senators which are exercised away from the seat of the Polish Parliament. Those rights and duties include the following: the right to obtain information from state and local-government authorities; the right to intervene on behalf of constituents; and the duty to maintain offices open to the public in constituencies. What directly arises from the representative mandate of Polish parliamentarians is their right and duty to actively participate in the parliamentary work of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland. In relation to that basic right and duty, their other rights and duties are of secondary nature – namely, the implementation of the latter is only possible when it serves the effective exercise of the mandate.
